The first day of school can be a stressful time for teachers. I always get the first day jitters and can’t sleep the night before! Lucky for you, I’ve got 3 FREE first day of school ideas that you can use in your classroom this year. They’ll make the first day a success!
I’ve been making these monster bookmark crafts for years on the first day of school! The kids LOVE personalizing them and using different origami paper to make them pop! It’s a super easy first day craft that your kids will love! Aren’t they awesome?? Grab the free template and step by step tutorial HERE or by clicking on any of the images below.
Team building activities during the beginning of the school year are such an important part of classroom communities. That’s why I spend the first day working on building those relationships with my students. One classroom favorite is this Saving Sam STEM Challenge! Students work together in teams to save Sam, a worm who’s rowboat has capsized and needs their help. The trick is they can’t use their hands to help Sam! Students can only use the supplies given by the teacher (4 paperclips) to try and get the life preserver on Sam.
This activity is PERFECT for classroom community building during the first days of school. Grab the free activity HERE or by clicking the image below.
All About Me Activities:
Let’s face it…kids love to tell you all about themselves and all the funs things they did over the summer! What if they could share all of that on one compact activity? I love to have my kids fill out these All About Me brochures and share them with each other!
Enjoy all the free back to school activities!
